Houston-area mobile dumpster compaction company says on-site compaction reduced an estimated 83 roll-off dumpster hauls for a 382-unit development

HOUSTON, Texas – October 5, 2026 – QuickCompact LLC, a Houston-area provider of mobile dumpster compaction services, announced results from a recent project for a multifamily developer in Katy, Texas, where the company estimates its on-site roll-off dumpster compaction service generated approximately $26,250 in net project savings.

The 382-unit garden-style multifamily development included 16 residential buildings plus a clubhouse and was expected to require approximately 380 40-yard roll-off dumpsters over the course of construction. QuickCompact began providing compaction services midway through the project’s sheetrock phase and ultimately performed 307 individual dumpster compactions across 84 site visits.

Based on the amount of material in each dumpster at the time of compaction and the observed compaction category assigned to each load, QuickCompact estimates that the service eliminated the need for approximately 83 roll-off dumpster hauls. Using an after-tax and fee cost of approximately $500 per dumpster haul derived from project invoices, the avoided hauls represented approximately $41,500 in estimated dumpster savings. Compaction services billed during the project totaled approximately $15,250, resulting in estimated net savings of $26,250.

During the Katy project, QuickCompact averaged approximately one avoided dumpster haul per site visit and helped the multifamily developer reduce the number of roll-off dumpsters maintained on-site from seven to four. Service frequency ranged from one to three compaction visits per week depending on construction activity and waste volume.

“Roll-off dumpsters are normally hauled based on how full they are, not necessarily because they have reached their weight capacity,” said Cole Edwards, owner of QuickCompact. “Construction debris like sheetrock, packaging, pallets and other bulky material can consume a tremendous amount of dumpster volume while leaving significant usable weight capacity. Our goal is to create more usable space inside the dumpster so customers can reduce unnecessary pulls and keep their job sites operating efficiently.”

Compaction Performance Varies by Waste Type

QuickCompact’s project data showed significant differences in compaction performance depending on the material being placed into the dumpster.

On the multifamily project, approximately 65% of the waste compacted was miscellaneous material such as pallets, boxes and other construction debris, while sheetrock represented approximately 21% and framing material approximately 14%. QuickCompact classified loads as high, medium or low compaction opportunities, with high-compaction loads representing those capable of achieving 50%+ compaction rates.

The company’s equipment provider, Pacmat, reports typical volume-reduction ranges of approximately 60–70% for recyclables, 50–60% for brush and compost, and 40–50% for wood, construction and demolition debris, and miscellaneous metals, based on European and North American operating data.

QuickCompact uses truck-mounted equipment to compact material directly inside customers’ existing open-top roll-off dumpsters, allowing customers to continue using their existing waste hauler while potentially reducing the frequency of dumpster exchanges. The service can be provided on a scheduled or on-demand basis.

Industrial Sites Can Also Benefit From Reduced Haul Frequency

QuickCompact has also developed economic models for industrial and commercial facilities that regularly generate bulky waste.

For a facility using one roll-off dumpster with a weekly haul schedule, QuickCompact’s current model estimates that weekly compaction at an assumed 50–60% compaction rate could reduce annual waste costs by approximately $8,000 to $10,000, based on a $550 roll-off haul cost and $125 compaction cost. The model estimates annual roll-off requirements could decline from 52 hauls to approximately 21–26 hauls.

For facilities maintaining two roll-off dumpsters, the company’s illustrative model estimates approximately $18,000 to $24,000 in potential annual savings, assuming two weekly compactions, a 50–60% compaction rate and a $550 haul cost.

A separate four-container model estimates approximately $30,000 to $40,000 in potential annual savings for a facility where four roll-off dumpsters would otherwise each be hauled weekly. The model assumes a 50–60% compaction rate and compares a traditional annual hauling cost of $97,760 against an estimated compaction-case cost of approximately $57,730 to $67,600.

“These economics become particularly compelling at sites with multiple dumpsters or frequent pulls,” Edwards said. “The more volume a customer is generating, the greater the opportunity to avoid hauling partially utilized containers.”

Designed for Existing Roll-Off Dumpsters

QuickCompact’s mobile service is designed to work with customers’ existing roll-off containers rather than requiring the installation of a stationary compactor.

The company says it has completed more than 2,300 dumpster compactions since April 2025 without a safety or dumpster-related incident. QuickCompact photographs dumpsters before and after each compaction and uses a truck-mounted Pacmat system designed to minimize contact with the roll-off container itself.
